This role is for an exceptionally talented startup founder looking for an opportunity to develop, launch and scale a computer vision AI startup with proprietary IP. Founders must be willing to work in-person at our San Diego office.

Launch Factory is a venture studio based in San Diego, California with an innovative pathway for launching successful companies. We bring together talented founders, elite advisors, seed capital, vetted market opportunities, and an accelerator program to give entrepreneurs the unfair advantage they’re looking for to launch great startups.

Launch Factory has recently launched a Founder in Residence (FiR) program to identify and select exceptional founders and operators, with experience funding, launching, and scaling startup businesses. Founders in residence will work with a cohort of fellow experienced founders to identify, validate, and launch computer vision AI startups.

Technology Partnership

This year, Launch Factory has partnered with WowYow Inc. to leverage their proprietary computer vision IP and launch multiple new businesses. WowYow’s technology solves the scalability problem other providers face and opens the door to new and game changing applications. Launch Factory has identified several promising verticals and disruptive market applications for future businesses. Founders in Residence will work to validate and bring these companies to market.

About the Program

Founders in Residence will work with Launch Factory to investigate concepts for video computer vision applications, validate these markets, and develop the vision for their business. FIRs will receive an initial investment to build and scale this new venture with Launch Factory as a resource.

Launch Factory has identified multiple promising markets for development. However, Founders in Residence are encouraged to bring their own opportunities to the table. Each FiR will select the market they choose to validate and pursue. Each new business will leverage WowYow’s computer vison API technology. The program will kick-off in early April 2022.

Requirements

• Committed to working on a new startup full time
• Prior experience as, ideally, a successful founder or a strong track record of success in a corporate environment
• Builders and operators who enjoy and are ready to roll up their sleeves and execute personally in San Diego
• Extensive industry background aligned with AI CV application areas.
• Exposure to product development based on CV and/or AI/ML models is preferred.
• Strong professional network of individuals (operators, investors, mentors).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. (US citizen, US permanent resident, or in the US with a workers Visa)

Non-Technical FiR (CEO) Requirements

• Sales, Business Development, and Product Marketing Gurus
• Obsessive customer focus with ability to turn research and insights into an actionable go to market strategy
• Excellent leadership and management experience with ability to hire and lead world class teams
• Track record of successful startup fundraising

Technical FiR (CTO) Requirements

• Product, Architecture, and UX Guru
• Incredible product vision with experience developing products from concept testing through mature production
• Track record building amazing user experiences
• At ease developing personally, and leading other developers, throughout the startup growth cycle.
